Counseling has the specific objective of improving a client’s quality of life–helping those who are experiencing challenges in coming to terms with particular events, current circumstances or relationships.

Counseling can be defined as an alliance of mutual trust which offers a safe and supportive space for clients to look at personal issues without the potential of judgment or negative consequences that may arise when sharing thoughts and feelings with those part of their day-to-day lives.

In exploring the issue at hand, clients get to flesh out what they are experiencing and identify the dynamics at play.
My role as a counselor is to support my clients in their journey and help them reach the goal they set to achieve in this process. This means creating an environment where clients feel free to express themselves, to explore thoughts and emotions around the issue that is challenging them. When clients recognize that they are heard and supported, they are more able to look at their issue in its entirety.

Through a muIti-disciplined approach, I assist clients gain insight into their situation and work with them towards achieving the outcome they have set for themselves. This process allows for a shift in perspective, and empowered with this new knowledge, clients can start making the changes they desire.
I firmly believe in the ability of my clients to harness their internal resources in order to change their circumstances and I feel privileged to be a part of their process.
