ABOUT ME

I received my Masters in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University Teacher’s College in New York City and began my professional career at a community clinic in Manhattan. From there I went on to work at Smithers, a substance abuse clinic within Roosevelt Hospital in New York City in their out-patient program. I did individual and group counseling work with both high functioning and dual diagnosis patients. I also became responsible for the management of the substance abuse research department which studied treatment outcomes. In Italy, I completed a second masters, as well as a specialization in couples counseling. In my private practice I see clients from the English speaking community as well as the Italian. As a bilingual practitioner, I’m able to easily move between both languages and work effectively in either.

I have collaborated with Centro Scuole di Counseling e Psicoterapia in their “Centro D’ascolto” program as well as Universities such as the Fashion Institute of Technology and PoliModa. I am past president of the Mediterranean Region Counselors Association as well as participated in AssoCounseling’s committee for the internationalization of counseling. I am a member in good standing of the American Counseling Association, the International Association for Counseling, and AssoCounseling which is an Italian professional association for counselors. I also currently hold a position as alternate on their Board of Auditors.
