Il ramo Europeo dell’American Counseling Association (EB-ACA) avrà il suo 56mo convegno il prossimo mese dal 1 al 4 Ottobre, a Napoli. Sarà un’occasione per rivedere colleghi lontani, fare approfondimenti sul counseling, e visitare una città affascinante. Quest’evento offrirà ai partecipanti l’opportunità di conoscere meglio il “branch”, come può essere sviluppato e anche come partecipare più attivamente. Inoltre, il comitato esecutivo della Regione Mediterranea coglierà quest’occasione d’incontrarsi per discutere i prossimi passi da svolgere per continuare il suo sviluppo.

EB-ACA Conference 2015

The European Branch of the American Counseling Association (EB-ACA) is having their 56th annual conference October 1st to 4th in Naples, Italy. It will be a great opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, enhance counseling skills and visit an enchanting city. This event will also offer attendees the chance to learn more about the branch, ways in which it can be developed and the possibilities of getting involved. Also, the executive board of the Mediterranean Region will use this occasion to have a face-to-face meeting and discuss the next steps to further its development.

IAC Conference Verona, Italy

I had the pleasure of attending (my first) International Association for Counselling Conference in Verona September 3-6, 2015. IAC is an association that has been active for almost 50 years promoting and supporting the counseling profession and professionals on a global level. The theme this year was “Building bridges toward wellbeing” and sub-themes were: the challenge of migration, particularly the sub-Saharan migration to Italy as well as Europe, and gender equality on a global scale. It was an enriching experience to hear the about the successes and challenges of counseling in countries such as New Zealand, Botswana, and Egypt. It was also important for participants to hear where counseling is in Italy and where it wants to be in the future. IAC has lent its support for the counseling profession in Italy by writing a letter to the government highlighting the validity of the counseling profession and that it is a profession that is practiced all over the world.

Convegno IAC a Verona, Italia

Ho avuto il piacere di partecipare al convegno dell’International Association for Counseling (IAC), tenutosi a Verona dal 3 al 6 Settembre. IAC è un’associazione attiva da 49 anni, ideata per promuovere la professione del counseling nel mondo. Il tema di quest’anno era: “Costruire Ponti Verso Il Benessere” con due sotto argomenti: il primo è l’immigrazione, in particolare quella del Sub-Sahara verso l’Italia e verso altri paesi Europei; il secondo è l’uguaglianza di genere su base globale. È stata un’esperienza molto proficua per conoscere i successi e le difficoltà di altri paesi come la Nuova Zelanda, il Botswana, e l’Egitto. È stato anche importante per i partecipanti del convegno conoscere lo stato presente del counseling in Italia e le sue possibilità di sviluppo. IAC ha reso supporto a questo percorso italiano scrivendo una lettera ai ministeri interessati e sottolineando la validità della professione e la sua diffusione mondiale.

Convegno Nazionale di AssoCounseling

6° Convegno Nazionale di AssoCounseling che si terrà il 28-29 Marzo a Milano con il tema “Le Relazioni Che Nutrono”. Oltre a i 20 interventi e i 30 laboratori, sarà presentata l’iniziativa del Comitato sull’Internazionalizzazione del Counseling che farà un intervento intitolato “Il Processo di Internazionalizzazione del Counseling”. È un argomento molto attuale che sta prendendo piede in varie associazioni nel mondo e l’Italia ha una sedia a questo tavolo rotondo.

Italian National AssoCounseling Conference

The 6th Annual Italian National AssoCounseling Conference will be in Milan March 28-29, 2015. This year the theme is “Relationships that nurture”. Along with a wide variety of professional workshops and learning sessions being offered, the Committee on the Internationalization of Counseling with be introduced and do a presentation on what their mission is and how people can get involved. It is a very timely topic being looked at by various counseling associations around the world and Italy is part of this conversation.

2014 Institute for Leadership Training

Il convegno ‘Leadership Training’ che L’Associazione di Counseling Americana ha organizzato per la prima volta cinque anni fa, è un’esperienza unica per sviluppare competenze di leadership, confrontarsi, e dare sostegno ai leaders emergenti. La giornata passata a Washington DC, è stata l’occasione per incontrare i senatori e i loro rappresentanti al fine di promuovere temi importanti per i cittadini dei (propri) stati. Questa esperienza; è stata molto educativa per capire l’iter legislativo. L’iniziativa della ACA è una grande opportunità per crescere professionalmente e personalmente, per sostenere i leaders attuali e aiutare a sviluppare quelli del futuro.

The ACA ILT was held July 23-26, 2014 in Alexandria, VA. An incredible experience to further develop leadership skills, exchange ideas, and encourage emerging leaders. The day spent on Capitol Hill, advocating was an eye opening and rich learning experience. This year the ILT coincided with the general council meeting creating the chance to network with even more leaders and partake in their knowledge. A truly unique opportunity for professional and personal growth, that supports leaders in the present and develops them for the future

5th annual national conference of AssoCounseling

I attended 5th annual national conference of AssoCounseling that this year was titled “Here and Now. The Present in Counseling” and it was held in Florence April 5-6, 2014.A momentous conference, since not only the president and Secretary general’s tenures were both expiring, changes in AssoCounseling by-laws were being proposed as well as the renewal of all the governing positions. And finally, they unveiled the first issue of the Italian Journal of Counseling.
